Local Theatre Company Airs Debut Production Online

One-Act Play about Heaven is available to view online from April 2 to 12, 2020.

Fort McMurray, AB — April 3, 2020 — New local theatre company, Symmetree Theatre, is streaming their original production “Freeing Heaven’s Secrets” online and on ShawTV for people to view from the comforts of their own home.

“Freeing Heaven’s Secrets” tells the story of Scheherazade, a blind girl on her deathbed, who promises her father she will visit him in his dreams and tell him what her heaven is like. On her journey to the other side, Scheherazade passes her blindness onto the audience, inviting them to experience her heaven the way she experienced our Earth.

“It’s been really inspiring seeing how the arts have brought our community together during this time of isolation, “ says Symmetree Theatre Founder Luay Eljamal. “Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen numerous artists share their craft with others online, in an attempt to connect with those who may feel far away right now. Our decision to share this production online was motivated by these gestures in the community. We hope it can give those who weren’t able to see the production in-person a chance to watch it from the comfort of their own homes.”

The production will be available for anyone to view for free online at www.facebook.com/symmetreetheatre until April 12, 2020. It will also air on Shaw Spotlight at 7:30pm on the evenings of April 13 to April 19, 2020 (Channel 105, or 10 on older boxes)
